Peri-implant disease is a growing burden of the exponential implant diffusion in dentistry. The goal of this lecture is to give an insight on implants diseases, on how to diagnose them and decide, to treat or refer them to a specialist.
The first part will focus on implants ideal placement, healing phases and maintenance regime. The second part will deal with implant diseases, their diagnosis and different options for treatment. Up to date and fundamental classic literature will be followed by clinical cases and their treatment.

Lorenzo Mordini, DDS, M.S. Assistant Professor. Surgical Implant coordinator, Department of Periodontology
Lorenzo Mordini graduated cum laude from University of Modena School of Dentistry, Italy in 2008.
After working in private practice in Italy, he moved to Boston, USA to complete the AEGD residency at Boston University, H. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He graduated in Periodontology from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. In the same institution he also completed the Master of Science, focusing on Guided Bone Regeneration clinical research. Dr Mordini is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He lectures nationally and internationally and he is co-author of books on Periodontal and Implant Therapy. He is ITI and Nevins Biohorizon Clinical Research Fellow.
Dr. Mordini works in private practice and Assistant Professor in Periodontology and implant surgery coordinator at Creighton University School of Dentistry, Omaha NE.
