History of
Altura Periodontics

Professional Periodontics and Implant Dentistry (PPID) was founded by Dr. Marc Reissner in 1981. Throughout the years, the practice has added doctors Alan Pomeranz, Neil Neugeboren, Emilio Arguello, Eduardo Marcuschamer and Heather Hong. The practice is well known in the Denver area. It has a reputation for offering the most advanced periodontal care for people suffering from gum disease and/ or needing dental implants. The doctors and supporting staff are focused on putting the patient’s needs first, and take great care to ensure they offer a comfortable experience.

The dental implant industry has grown rapidly during the last several years because of an aging population, advances in technology and the entrance of numerous franchise-type centers the offer a less personalized service model. In, addition, as PPID has added doctors to its practice, the long-term strategy has begun to evolve and change.
With the move in 2014, Professional Periodontics and Implant Dentistry officially changed its name to Altura Periodontics to better represent the many significant changes the practice has experienced. As the largest private periodontal and implant practice in Colorado with five surgeons, Altura continues to build on the solid heritage and reputation that PPID has build during the last 30 years. The name change is an acknowledgement of the growth, innovation, and diversity that have become key elements to the practice’s current success.
The name Altura Periodontics was chosen to capture the doctors’ dedication to reach new heights with treatment plans, patients, referring doctors, and their peers. In Spanish, the word Altura means “height.” Additionally, words that end in an “a” signify the comforting and caring attribute that the practice believes has set them apart.
As Altura Periodontics, the practice continues to be dedicated to its loyal referring doctors and patients in the professional manner that all have come to expect. However, with the new name, the practice will do it with a modern twist that takes its care and practice to new heights.
